Thea Render is a biased and unbiased physically-based renderer, which offers both GPU and CPU rendering and a robust set of features. In this course, learn how to get up and running quickly with Thea Render, and leverage its functionality and capabilities to create striking 3D renders. Leon van den Heever goes over the different workflows that you can use when working with Thea Render, explains how to customize the interface, and shows how to navigate the Viewport. - [Instructor] Once we've created enough lighting in our scene, we can move onto creating materials for our objects. In this lesson we'll look at how to apply materials and get a general overview of the material lab. For this lesson I'm using from the files, scenes menu from the materials editor sub menu, the direct scene. From the Windows menu, I'll make sure I have both these settings and more settings panels open. We've already seen that from the browser, Thea includes a number of ready-to-use materials. They are a good reference resource to learn about Thea's material system and I encourage you that once you understand the basics to take a closer look at them to understand how various materials are constructed. Thea also offers a handy online material library resource that hosts submissions from both Thea and the community. These materials can be downloaded and saved to Thea's data folder materials location for easy access which we'll look at in the next lesson.
